The biggest mobile cranes delivery in Norwegian history!

BMS Stangeland Invests in 15 New Cranes from SANY
A major equipment investment by BMS Stangeland is set to boost crane operations across Norway, Sweden, and Finland with 15 new cranes currently working throughout the Nordics. The delivery of 15 mobile cranes makes it the biggest deal in Norwegian history.
The fleet includes ten 110-ton Rough Terrain cranes and five 250-ton All-Terrain mobile cranes, all manufactured by Chinese heavy machinery giant SANY. The cranes were shipped from the SANY factory on May 28, transported to Shanghai, and from there they finally arrived at Drammen, Norway back in August.
Of the 15 machines, eight will be allocated to Crane Norway Group, while the remaining seven will be distributed between Havator AB in Sweden and Havator OY in Finland.
“This is a significant step in strengthening our presence throughout Scandinavia,” said Trond Helge Skretting, COO of BMS Stangeland and head of the Crane Norway Group. “These machines are of top quality and come equipped with advanced technical features that will be highly appreciated by our operators.”

The investment is part of a broader agreement with Seabrokers Heavy Machinery, the Norwegian importer of SANY cranes. In addition to the current delivery, BMS Stangeland has placed an order for ten hybrid 250-ton mobile cranes, with deliveries scheduled for fall 2025 and spring 2026.
This deal is however not BMS Stangelands first experience with SANY and Seabrokers. Earlier this year, two SANY cranes, a 200-ton crawler crane and an 80-ton telescopic crawler crane, were delivered to Oslo and have been in operation since January.
“We’re extremely satisfied with their performance,” said Trond Helge Skretting. “Both the [SANY] factory and Seabrokers have provided outstanding service and support. Operational reliability is, of course, a key priority for us.”
This deal comes at a time of growing interest for SANY cranes as SANY cement themselves as the premium partner for construction projects that require state-of-the-art lifting solutions. Having been one of the many companies offering large scale cranes in Europe, there has recently been a surge of interest in SANY- particularly in the Nordic regions.
Ken Yang, Crane Sales Manager at SANY Northern Europe gives his take on what preludes the rising interest:
“For a long time have we listened to our customers and really taken their feedback to heart, and then of course back to the manufacturing facility. The demands from customers, in regard to doing some modifications to the cranes, vary in complexity but so far, we’ve been able to accommodate everyone. I believe this coupled with the fact that our cranes are, by industry standards, very smart investments from day one gives us a clear edge in the market.”
